Sousse Hospital

Compound formed by two simple prismatic volumes, housing a hospital and an outpatient clinic.

A tall vertical glassed atrium stands out from the adjacent sober volumes, linking both and providing the user with the possibility to see the whole building at a glance. Users will enjoy ample outdoor views as well from this core space. Each building has four floors above ground level, plus a common underground floor which links them all and services as a mechanical floor. Priority has been given to natural lighting and ventilation, through open spaces, interior patios and gardens, in order to increase the patient’s feeling of climatic and visual comfort.

This project was carried out in collaboration with CASASOLO Arquitectos.

Active and passive strategies to reduce the building’s energy consumption have been taken into account from the very beginning of the design process.
