This "Ode to the Sea" is an urban reorganisation project which aims to create a new mixed use nucleus for the metropolitan area of Montpellier
The design, which includes shops, offices, services, hotels and restaurants, places a special emphasis on leisure. The innovative element lies in the creation of an artificial landscape which enables the relocation of medium sized shops to below ground level, reducing the impact of the building and prioritizing green spaces on the surface through the construction of a large urban park with open air sports facilities, café terraces, shaded leisure areas, etc. Beneath the park, pedestrian streets connect the shopping area to the surrounding urban fabric.
