The façade evokes a subtractive architectural approach and exudes a sculptural character. Through a composition of solids and voids, it takes the form of a large "perforated stone" that wraps around the corner, sheltering the expansive garden within.
This residential building on Calle Fúcar stands as an elegant housing solution that reinterprets and engages in dialogue with Madrid’s urban fabric. The project will accommodate 57 residences, comprising studios and one- or two-bedroom apartments.
Located on the site of a former telephone exchange in the heart of Madrid, just steps from the CaixaForum Museum, the new project emerges as a contemporary response to the historic urban fabric.
The building’s design, comprising a ground floor and four additional levels, reinstates the original courtyard around which the complex is organized. The structure aligns with the height of adjacent buildings and establishes a harmonious dialogue with the surrounding materials through a stone-like architectural language.
The building's volume features a regular modulation along the street, creating an orderly rhythm of vertical openings that seamlessly integrates into Madrid’s urban landscape, honoring the repetition of balconies characteristic of the Barrio de las Letras.
