Retail shops are located at the ground floor, leaving leisure and dining on the two upper levels. The hotel acts as a backdrop, giving visibility to the project.
The project is located at Playa del Carmen, one of the main cities of the Riviera Maya.
The warm climate allows an open complex design with a large public square connected with and expanding the main pedestrian shopping area of the city. The building perimeters are arranged on the north, south and east sides, while the west part of the complex is split to allow 5th Avenue to go through it naturally. Larger volumes are located on the back, while the building on the main avenue is projected lower, adjusting the scale to the pedestrian nature of the route. A large pergola, which recalls the geometry of the area’s traditional palapas, covers the space, providing it with a local character.
