Set on the slope of a former basalt quarry and embedded within the historic Bazaly district, the new stadium is conceived as an urban landmark deeply rooted in Ostrava’s industrial character.
The project adapts its volume to the surrounding residential scale while opening towards the city through a large panoramic façade that takes advantage of the natural topography. A hexagonal structural grid organises the base and circulation system, bringing ramps, stairs and landings to the exterior skin, where the exposed steel structure echoes the industrial heritage that defines the local landscape.
The architecture rests on a continuous topographic podium that separates flows and frees generous public spaces, articulated into platforms that function as access plazas and meeting areas. Inside, a continuous two-tier bowl ensures an immersive atmosphere and close proximity to the pitch, reinforcing the intense character of football in Ostrava. With hospitality areas, year-round activity and a strong focus on regenerating its surroundings, New Bazaly is designed to become an urban and social catalyst for the entire city.
