We are pleased to announce that the expansion of Garbera Shopping Center, promoted by the Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) group, has been awarded as the Best Major Renovation / Transformation / Expansion. This award recognizes the significant renovation completed in 2023, focused not only on spatial transformation but also on a strong commitment to sustainability. The project involved a complete repositioning of the shopping center, expanding its area from 40,000 m² to 60,000 m² and transforming it from a single-level structure to three levels, including two floors of underground parking.
Garbera’s transformation stands out for its use of eco-friendly materials and a focus on energy efficiency. The center currently holds the 'Breeam Excellent' certification for sustainable construction, thanks to initiatives such as a 27% reduction in carbon footprint, the installation of solar panels, and optimized climate control systems to achieve greater energy efficiency.
