Glòries Shopping Centre Refurbishment

After 15 years this leisure and retail complex, situated in a vibrant urban redevelopment area, is programming a full refurbishment and a small extension to meet and adapt to the needs of the new urban fabric and the functions of the 22@ sector of Barcelona. The project proposes to transform an indoor space into an open-air meeting and leisure zone and, in turn, to build onto the current central plaza. Other planned interventions are the extension of the internal route linking the streets Diagonal and Gran Vía and covering one of the streets on level -1 to facilitate direct access from the nearby street. These interventions are undertaken with great simplicity and clarity through a design that emphasizes the importance of the different atmospheres.
