Aranjuez Plaza Shopping Centre

Aranjuez Plaza

Project that forms part of a town-planning operation with a casino, golf club and low-density residential area, a few kilometres away from the historic centre. The complex is developed on two floors, along a triangular plot. A pronounced natural slope defines the levels of the building and locates the main accesses. The idea is to contrast a blind base on which three pieces are placed and highlighted, giving the building character. These have been designed with a double layer of perforated plate and glass, to allow interior light to escape at night and to act as opaque white prisms during the day, in contrast to the blind base of the business premises. Inside all the roofs are treated with sculptural perforations that regulate and guide the light provoking different lighting and designs.
