L35 designs the interiors of Vilamarina Shopping Centre

Vilamarina Shopping Centre, situated in Viladecans (Barcelona) was opened to the public. The new centre is included in a complex designed by Batlle y Roig Arquitectes and promoted by Metrovacesa, with L35 in charge of the interior design.
Vilamarina, an attractive modern centre with 32.340m2 gla, situated near Barcelona airport and only 10 minutes from the city centre, covers an area of 1.4 million inhabitants and is located in a new residential area in Viladecans, which includes offices and hotels.
The criteria applied in the conception of the interior areas were mainly focused on the search for strong volumes and light. L35 conceived the interior as a mall connected to the exterior rather than a simply closed shopping area. The roof was designed following the idea of a huge vault using natural light in all the defined volumes which are repeated in a sequence and provide the mall with its own personality. The materials used in the inner spaces are the same as those used throughout the building in order to give continuity.
